Hardcover Book Structures

Taught by Andrew Huot

A perfect workshop for beginner and intermediate bookbinders alike, this class will cover three variations of hard-covered books with single and multiple sections. The first will be a way to dress up single signature pamphlet books. The next, the Sewn Board Binding, is a variation that allows the book to open flat. The last is the Case Bound Book that has a traditional look. Each book will expand on the techniques used in bookbinding. At the end of the weekend, you will leave with three books to be used as journals, sketchbooks, or artist books.

Andrew Huot is a book artist and bookbinder in Atlanta, Georgia. He operates Big River Bindery, a studio for bookmaking and letterpress printing, book repair, and design.
