Stephen Pittelkow

Marbled paper

Steve Pittelkow has been marbling for 35 years. His papers are known for their brilliant color and precise technique. He has taught marbling and book binding at book art centers, colleges and universities in the U.S. and Europe, including the Morgan Conservatory, Penland School of Crafts, The Metropolitan Museum, the New York Center for Book Arts, the Wells College Summer Institute, and many others. Steve also enjoys teaching cartonnage, specialty box making in the French style. This technique provides ample room for experimentation with new methods and materials--and new surfaces for marbled paper.
