Ecstatic to Share Our Facility With Cleveland Schools and Organizations

One of our favorite opportunities we have at the Morgan is to work with our neighbors in the Cleveland community. We hold our scheduled workshops in two separate seasons throughout the year, Winter and Summer, but at any time, you can schedule a custom workshop utilizing one of our spaces at the Morgan. This includes our papermaking studio, bindery, or letterpress studio, or all three! Depending on the size of the group you are looking to bring in, we can tailor an experience fit for your interests. Over the past month, we welcomed Case Western and Oberlin students into our studios for a papermaking custom workshop. Welcoming their incoming freshman students and introducing them to Cleveland organizations to get involved in.

Along with our scheduled workshops throughout the year, we also offer internships during the school semesters. Our internship program offers students the opportunity to work with every facet of papermaking at The Morgan, as well as our garden and administrative roles. These custom workshops were a blossoming opportunity to begin a relationship with these schools and their students, in the hopes we will see their faces again soon! Both groups worked in our paper studio, creating sheets of western-style paper. No experience is necessary to schedule any workshop with us; all of our staff members will be able to walk through the steps of papermaking or any of the other workshop options we have available. The students were also able to work with a technique we call pulp painting. Pulp painting is where we take very finely processed fiber, pigment it to various colors, and then use bottles to

create designs on top of the couched sheets of paper. Prices vary depending on the number of participants, the amount of time the program runs, and what disciplines will be taught. We love to welcome new and returning faces throughout the year to one of the workshops.
