About

Black walnut husks will be provided for the class to create a large batch of ink that will be used as a dye bath. Participants–who will be provided with paper from The Morgan–are also encouraged to bring in their own paper. At the end of the workshop, participants will leave with an 8 oz jar of Black Walnut Ink and resources to help them continue on their own. No prior experience is required! Registration deadline: 12/23/23

Student Supply List: - Paper to be dyed. Participants are welcome to bring in any type of paper they would like to experiment with that is 18 " by 24 " or smaller.

Instructor Bio: Anna Chapman is an artist and art educator passionate about the intersection of art, education, ecology, and healing. Her work is continuously exploring transformative approaches to art and art education in light of destabilized socioecological contexts. She received a BFA in Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design, a Masters of Arts in Art Education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts at UMass Amherst - where she teaches undergraduate drawing classes. Anna also teaches through ecoartspace, Artolution, and the continuing studies department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
