Relief print on artist's handmade paper

Lisa Schonberg explores the world of printmaking by combining a variety of processes including relief, intaglio, monoprinting and screen-printing.  Her images reflect a reverence for the natural world and exhibit phenomena such as water flow, earth formations, entangled and abstracted foliage along with other nature inspired ephemera.

The many patterned layers and forms in her prints are meant to evoke the beauty and mystery of earth’s elements.

She received her MFA in Printmaking from Kent Sate University in 1984 and her BFA from Ohio University in 1976.  She presently teaches printmaking at Baldwin Wallace University, Notre Dame College and periodically teaches for the Cleveland Institute of Art/Continuing Ed. Dept.  Her teaching career spans 39 years and includes a variety of experiences from working in public schools to artist residencies and internships.

Lisa is a resident artist at Zygote Press in Cleveland where she produces her prints, teaches and volunteers. She has exhibited her work in galleries and at juried, invitational and solo shows since 1984. Her work is in the collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Southwest General Hospital, MetroHealth Center, Hahn Loeser, LLP, and the Cuyahoga County Headquarters in downtown Cleveland.
